Rebecca + Barry

30 March

After been together for 8 years, Rebecca & Barry shared with us their short engagement story that is sweet and lovely.

In this special day, Rebecca wore a classic strapless mermaid gown, Zeita by San Patrick. Featuring a sweetheart neckline and covered in full lace and volumise tulle on the skirt, it is perfect for any brides who are looking for a sophisticated gown with a modern look. Customise strap add on to fit her need, the gowns looks amazing on her.

We are always happy and grateful to be part of everyone's wedding. And even happier when the brides showed us their beautiful wedding pictures. To get Rebecca's dress, make an appointment with us.

Tell a little bit about you and your partner
We met at the ages of 14 and 15 working at a fast food outlet... a couple of years later, he became my first boyfriend and 8 years later he popped the question! After dating for so long, we wanted a short engagement, so we set the date – just over 5 months after we got engaged. We wanted a low cost, indoor, Winter wedding with a touch of class and timelessness, lots of dancing and only 75 guests.

I was born and raised in Bunbury, I work for the State Government, I do Polercise to keep fit and love to watch cooking shows!

How he/she popped the question?
We had just done the final walk through/inspection of our newly built home and he got down on one knee in our hallway entrance and asked me to marry him with a Hearts on Fire ring.

What is the most exciting part of the planning?
Trying on dresses for sure!

How to pick “the” perfect gown?
Before you go, take some time to think about your body shape and what style is flattering on you. Also think about your Groom’s favourite body feature on you and consider a dress that’s going really show that off for him (but keep it classy and tasteful). Take just one special person (for me it was my Mum), pick about four places to go to over one or two days and definitely stop for morning/afternoon tea and lunch! Wear your hair and makeup nice for the day to try and give you a better overall idea of the look!

Favourite memory of the wedding?
The photographer was doing some individual shots of our bridal party and my Groom took me aside to take his own photo of me with his phone. In that moment, I could just see and feel how much he loved me and how much he loved how I looked on the day. He was so proud and impressed and it made me feel truly beautiful.

One tip for those who are planning now
Have a short engagement! Trust me, the longer you have, the more you will worry about things that don’t matter on the day and the entire process with just consume your life. I’ve heard of a lot of women feeling really down after their wedding because it’s all over so quickly and they spent so long planning it. I only had five months of planning and even that was enough.
