Who said money can’t buy you love or happiness? It sure can buy you that perfect wedding dress. Not everyone is lucky enough to have the perfect dress for the perfect wedding but there is no harm to get yourself inspired with our list of top ten picks for favourite celebrity wedding dresses of all time. Either they’re customised dresses by the big guns Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang, or recycled from what they have already owned, get ready for some major dress envy and some serious big-day inspirations. It’s time for us all to drool over these stunning yet elegant and dreamy wedding gowns.
First off, is Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 wedding dress. The style icon wore a Pierre Balmain dress when she married actor Mel Ferrer. It’s high-neck, full chiffon-sleeved and tea-length circle skirt is simple and elegant, it started the whole tea-length wedding dress trend. Talk about class.
The hair, the cape and the jumpsuit, how can you not fall in love with it? The ultra-hip boho glam star wore 6 different outfits in 50 shades of white during the whole wedding ceremony, and the Stéphane Rolland’s jumpsuit was our favourite.
Kate walk down the aisle to marry Prince William in this Alexander McQueen masterpiece in April 2011, with over 2 billion people watching the royal wedding. The gown was designed by Alexander McQueen’s creative director Sarah Burton, with hand-cut English lace, French Chantilly lace dress with matching shoes. Since then, it became one of the most copied dress in modern fashion history.
Textured mini-dress, knee length socks, a large felt hat, and a groovy large pair of sunnies that screams 1960s all over. The artist married John Lennon in 1969, and the dress still keeps us talking about it until now. I wonder if she still keeps it in her closet.
When she revealed her dress was actually what she already had in her wardrobe, all of us was pretty surprised. The actress wore a cute tulle tutu Chanel Haute Couture dress and mini jacket by Chanel with ballet flats when she swap vows with James Righton in 2013. After the wedding, we also spotted the starlet with the same dress and paired it with black tights to completely change the look.
Designed by her good friend John Galliano, the dress was traditional yet eye-catching. The supermodel’s dress was a 1920s-glam inspired sheer flapper dress with sequins. The whole boho look was sexy yet lovely, we just can’t move our eyes away from her.
The fashionable star wore a Carolina Herrera three-piece that shun tradition completely. It was made up of a sheer organza skirt and cashmere jumper, the star then paired it with a pair of blue Manolo Blahnik heels for her something blue.
When the human rights lawyer aka Mrs Clooney exchanged vows with George Clooney, she wore an exquisite custom-made Oscar de la Renta wedding gown with French lace gown with hand-embroidered pearls and crystals and with long and elegant cathedral veil. It was stunning, romantic and dreamy.
When she married Monaco's Prince Rainier, the actress wore a pearl-studded long sleeved gowns, design by MGM studio’s costume designer Helen Rose. The rose point lace fitted bodice, veil, train insert and prayer book, Valenciennes lace for the skirt support and ruffled petticoat; and silk taffeta, tulle and Brussels lace skirt , it was pure Hollywood magic. Modest and iconic, it inspired millions of similar wedding dresses, including Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William in 2011.
