Mika Ninagawa X Kuraudia
When we think of wedding dresses, usually the first thing that comes to our mind is a dreamy, romantic and white dress. The iconic white wedding dress was made popular by Queen Victoria in the 19th century. Since then, women around the world have been exchanging vows in beautiful white dresses and has accepted it as a social norm. Sometimes you just want to shun traditional apart and wear something else, perhaps something that will blow all your guest’s mind completely.
Mika Ninagawa is a Japanese photographer known for her vibrant and brightly colored photography.Kuraudia Bridal Creator, on the other hand is a Japanese bridal gown company that has created a series of bold, dramatic and colourful wedding dresses that is totally out of this world. One day, they decided to work together and came out with a collection of mind blowing gown photography.
This collaboration series was inspired by nature’s best patterns, flowers. Every textile was a photograph by Nika Ninagawa, then delicately designed by Kuraudia Bridal Creator. The fabric was then pass over to Komatsu Seiren, one of the best fabric makers in Japan, to be produced.
Here are some of our favourites from the collaboration, sit back, enjoy and get inspired!
